Chief Technology Officer, Consumer

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional Chief Technology Officer for GlobalData's Consumer Division, providing senior leadership for our Bangalore technology organization. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the technology strategy, engineering organization, and AI agenda supporting our Consumer business. The CTO will partner closely with business teams, including central development and product leadership, to shape the next generation of GlobalData's Consumer products, leveraging proprietary data, research, and evolving AI capabilities to create differentiated customer experiences. The CTO will also lead and develop our Bangalore technology organization, establishing it as a strategic center for engineering, data, and AI excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The CTO will be accountable for:

• Technology Strategy: Defining and executing the technology vision and roadmap for the Consumer business, ensuring technology investment aligns with product strategy, customer needs, and commercial growth.
• Product & Engineering: Leading the engineering organization across Software Engineering, Data Engineering, AI/ML, QA, DevOps, and Platform Engineering, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, pace, and innovation.
• AI & Data: Driving the adoption of Generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning, and modern data architectures across the Consumer portfolio, transforming proprietary data and expertise into differentiated products and customer experiences.
• Architecture & Platforms: Evolving technology architecture to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient platforms, simplifying the technology estate and accelerating product development.
• Bangalore Leadership: Building and developing a high-performing technology organization in Bangalore, attracting talent and developing future technology leaders.
• Execution & Operational Excellence: Improving engineering productivity, delivery predictability, platform reliability, and cloud efficiency, while maintaining high standards of security and governance.
• Executive & Customer Leadership: Serving as the senior technology voice for Consumer, partnering with senior leadership and engaging directly with strategic customers where technology and AI are central to the relationship.

Requirements & Tech Stack

We are seeking a technology leader who combines strategic thinking, deep technical credibility, strong product instincts, and outstanding organizational leadership. The successful candidate will bring:

• Significant senior technology leadership experience in a SaaS, data, information services, AI, or technology product business.
• A track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations and leadership teams.
• Experience owning technology strategy for customer-facing products and platforms.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML, Generative AI, modern data platforms, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience modernizing complex technology environments while continuing to deliver ambitious product roadmaps.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to connect technology decisions to customer value and business outcomes.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams, ideally including significant technology organizations in India.
• Executive presence to operate with senior business leaders and customers, with sufficient technical depth to challenge architecture and engineering decisions.
