Cosmetic Chemist

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Cosmetic Chemist role based in Ahmedabad. The role involves developing and optimizing formulations for a range of personal care products and supporting clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize formulations for skin care, hair care, personal care, baby care, and oral care products, ensuring stability, safety, and performance.
• Conduct laboratory experiments.
• Select raw materials.
• Perform compatibility and stability tests.
• Document results according to internal and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and branding teams to scale formulas from lab to manufacturing.
• Resolve technical issues.
• Support private label and third-party clients with product customization.
• Stay current with cosmetic science trends, regulatory requirements, and new ingredients.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as weighing, mixing, emulsification, pH adjustment, viscosity measurement, and stability testing.
• Knowledge of cosmetic regulations, safety assessment principles, and quality control practices.
• Ability to analyze data, interpret test results, troubleshoot formulation issues, and document experiments.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Attention to detail, commitment to safety and compliance.
• Readiness to work on-site in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in cosmetic science and formulation, including experience developing skin care, hair care, personal care, baby care, or oral care products.
• Experience in a cosmetic or personal care manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with third-party manufacturing or private labeling is an advantage.
