About the Role

Full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing strategic initiatives, operational activities, and stakeholder relationships in the designated area or business unit. The role involves setting goals and performance standards, monitoring progress, and ensuring alignment with Deakin’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing budgets and resources.
• Leading local teams or partners.
• Coordinating projects that support teaching, research, and student-focused outcomes.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Providing regular reports on performance and risks.
• Driving continuous improvement in processes and services.
• Fostering an inclusive, high-integrity work culture.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in leadership, ownership, or senior management roles, with accountability for strategic planning, governance, and outcomes.
• Strong skills in operations management, project coordination, and resource planning, including budget oversight and performance monitoring.
• Experience building and managing stakeholder relationships, including internal teams, partners, and community or industry representatives.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities, with capacity to present ideas clearly and influence diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work on-site in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and lead through change while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, education administration, or a related field.
• A postgraduate qualification is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with higher education, research environments, or global institutions is an advantage, especially with experience in Australian or international university contexts.
