About the Role
Evaluates, implements, and controls the company's radioactive waste management programs and procedures to protect against radiation hazards. Recommends and develops policies for inspection standards, decontamination procedures, emergency procedures, waste handling, and disposal services. Controls personnel radiation exposures, environmental releases, and surface-type contaminants. Stays abreast of federal, state, local, and industry radiation protection regulations and ensures that radiation levels are in compliance with standards. May develop and direct radiation training and monitoring programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, implement, and control radioactive waste management programs and procedures.
- Recommend and develop policies for inspection standards, decontamination, emergency procedures, waste handling, and disposal services.
- Control personnel radiation exposures, environmental releases, and surface contaminants.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and industry radiation protection regulations.
- May develop and direct radiation training and monitoring programs.
Requirements & Tech Stack

- Salary Range: $102,000.00 to $128,000.00
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; OR
- Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; OR
- Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
Equivalents to a Bachelor's Degree include:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2-year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience OR 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Nice to Have:
- Past U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion experience (e.g., RL or RM Division)
