Category Sales Intern

About the Role

We are searching for a business-focused student to join our 2027 Summer Internship on our Category Sales team. As the Category Sales Intern, you’ll work with the Category Sales team to learn about category management at one of the leading grocery wholesalers and gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, execution, analysis and making recommendations about key business driving activities. You will work closely with the immediate team and other key internal and external business partners to achieve project goals shared with AWG leadership and impact future business activities. You will have visibility for key processes and tools used to drive efficient, timely, and profitable decisions that benefit our members.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn about category management.
• Gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, execution, analysis and making recommendations about key business driving activities.
• Work closely with the immediate team and other key internal and external business partners to achieve project goals.
• Gain visibility for key processes and tools used to drive efficient, timely, and profitable decisions.
• Present hard-earned insights to the Executive Leadership Team at the conclusion of the internship.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Business Analysis, or similar major candidates.
• Junior or senior level students preferred. Recent graduates are acceptable.
• Solid communication skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Process Improvement skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to ask questions.
• Ability to follow up.
• Initiative.
• Enthusiasm to learn.
• Ability to follow direction.
• Interest in SCM, logistics and the grocery field.
• Ability to commit to a full-time, 40 hour per week, 10-week internship.
• Possibility to work overtime as needed.
• Regular and reliable attendance throughout the program.

Qualifications

• 2027 Summer Internship program.
• Internship duration: May 25th, 2027 – July 30th, 2027.
• Interviews kick off in late Fall 2026.
• Work environment is business casual.
