Accountant

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Mumbai. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance aligned with the company’s distribution activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing invoices
• Monitoring collections
• Handling vendor and customer accounts
• Ensuring accurate entry of high-volume transactions
• Assisting in monthly and annual closing
• Preparing financial reports
• Supporting audits
• Ensuring compliance with statutory and tax regulations
• Collaborating with operations, sales, and warehouse teams to align financial records with inventory movements, secondary sales execution, and last-mile fulfillment
• Helping maintain strong internal controls and process efficiency

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems)
• Proficiency with MS Excel
• Proficiency with basic financial reporting tools

Qualifications

• Strong core accounting skills, including bookkeeping, general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliation
• Knowledge of Indian taxation, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance relevant to distribution and FMCG operations
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle high-volume transactions, reconcile discrepancies, and support audits
• Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance, sales, and operations teams and external stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA) are an advantage
• Prior experience in distribution, FMCG, or logistics accounting, and familiarity with inventory and batch control, is highly beneficial
