Job Title: Laundry Attendant

Key Responsibilities

• Assure efficient retrieval, processing, and distribution of laundry.
• Sort all stained/damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard.
• Maintain continuous inventory of discarded items.
• Operate the ironing and folder machines according to specifications.
• Process cleaned articles through the machines.
• Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size.
• Place stacks in specified areas of distribution.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer filters.
• Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Check the working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery.
• Monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Restock work areas for the next shift.
• Turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Follow safety and security procedures and rules.
• Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Utilize protective equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions to management.
• Report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management.
• Provide for a safe work environment.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
• Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Assist other Housekeeping Personnel when needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to Lift, Push & Pull up to (50) pounds.
• Frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen, and folding.
• Continuous movement throughout the department.
• Standing is required during the entire shift.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
