Battery/Light Service Driver

About the Role

Join AAA Mountain West Group as a Battery/Light Service Driver and become a Roadside Hero. You will be the face of AAA, providing safety, solutions, and peace of mind to members in need. AAA provides all the necessary training for this role.

Concord, CA

Schedule/Start times

• Swings: Flexibility to work around the hours of 11am - 2am
• Shifts are 8hrs
• Includes Weekends

Pay & Incentives

• Starting Pay: $27.50/hr
• Lucrative Shift Differentials ($0.75 to $1.50 more per hour)
• Monthly Bonuses (up to an additional $1,900 per month)
• Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating tow trucks safely and efficiently.
• Performing simple vehicle diagnostics to identify issues.
• Providing roadside assistance, including tire changes, fuel delivery, and vehicle lock-outs.
• Building trust, problem-solving, and acting as a calming presence for members.
• Clear and proficient verbal and written communication.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to drive a manual/automatic shift vehicle.
• Common knowledge of vehicle components and common reasons for vehicle failure.

Qualifications

• No prior towing experience required; paid training is provided.
• A customer-first mindset and a passion for helping people.
• Willingness and flexibility to work the Swing Shift, including weekends.
• Great attendance history.
• Exemplary customer service skills.
• High standards for processes and safety.
• Demonstrates problem-solving and listening skills.
• Ability to discern safety issues and respond appropriately.

Physical Requirements

• Works outdoors at vehicle sites.
• Lifting and carrying tires and parts, weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Bending, kneeling, and stooping as required.
• Works in all weather and traffic conditions.
• Vehicle recovery sites may be wet, messy, and hazardous.
