About the Role

Goodwill Industries of Akron, OH is looking to hire an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier. This role is vital in supporting the mission of providing services to the community and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the face of the agency, providing exceptional customer service to shoppers and donors.
• Greet every person with a warm smile.
• Inform customers about the Elizabeth Clark Fund and encourage participation.
• Assist customers with purchases, operating the cash register and point of sale system accurately and efficiently.
• Complete reports, including donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances.
• Answer phones with friendliness and commitment to customer service, listening carefully.
• Select and price donated goods and textiles, ensuring Goodwill quality control standards are met.
• Maintain neat and clean store areas.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Basic math, computer, and typing skills.
• Ability to count back change.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable and trustworthy.
• Ability to work independently and foster a strong team atmosphere.

Work Schedule

• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
