Key Responsibilities

• Conduct safety induction programs for all new entrants and continuous training for plant employees/workers.
• Conduct mock drills for emergency situations.
• Attend safety meetings, address safety points, and conduct daily safety rounds, sharing observation reports.
• Conduct toolbox talks for all employees.
• Manage safety communication through displays, safety signs, in-house magazines, safety literature, and annual plant safety performance reports.
• Participate in safety goal/target setting, improvement projects, the safety suggestion scheme, and safety promotional activities.
• Ensure statutory inspections for all lifting tools & tackles and pressure vessels are conducted by a third party.
• Conduct non-statutory inspections for the plant.
• Comply with the ESS and GRC portal.
• Participate in safety audits and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Be involved in the process of hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis for construction activities.
• Participate in the statutory assessment of contractors from a safety perspective.
• Control contractors through regular monitoring, reward & penalty systems, and performance reviews.
• Inspect and maintain all safety equipment.
• Ensure the good health of safety guards, safety interlocks, hand tools, and power tools in the plant.
• Ensure 100% compliance with the work permit system and safe isolation procedures.
• Study and control hazardous substances in the plant.
• Procure and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) in the plant.
• Monitor noise, ventilation, and dust in the workplace.
• Inspect electrical equipment and installations.
• Ensure fire risk management for hazardous areas in the plant.
• Ensure maintenance of firefighting equipment and documentation.
• Ensure the healthiness of the fire alarm system.
• Train employees on emergency planning.
• Report all incidents, including near misses, on the ESS.
• Ensure the investigation of all incidents, including near misses.
• Maintain data for incident trend analysis.
• Recognize and manage potential loss areas.
• Ensure the hygiene of the workplace.
• Ensure safety displays are present in the plant.
• Ensure 5S implementation in the plant.
