Human Services (Direct Support Professional)

About the Role

ETTA, a respected non-profit in Human Services, seeks individuals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism. Opportunities are available throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area, including the San Fernando Valley and surrounding communities.

Multiple roles are available:

• Direct Support Professional (DSP)
• Life Skills Coach
• Supported Living Services Staff (SLS)
• Independent Living Advocate
• Job Coach
• General Support Staff
• Caregiver
• Independent Living Services (ILS) Staff
• Mentor

Positions are available for Part Time and Full Time across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of ETTA's Human Services Support Staff, you will:

• Assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live more independent and enriching lives.
• Inspire and support clients to achieve their goals.
• Guide, mentor, and inspire clients to live happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.
• Support clients in developing talents, identifying employment ambitions, and obtaining employment or volunteer positions (as a Job Coach).
• Enhance living skills (as an ILS Staff).
• Provide daily education, socialization, and community volunteer activities (in Day Programs).
• Support clients in residential group homes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• 21+ years of age
• A valid driver's license for a minimum of three years
• Clean driving record
• Insured vehicle
• Willingness to drive with clients using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Live Scan (DOJ / FBI) background check required.

Qualifications

• Some personal or professional experience supporting individuals with special needs is helpful.
• Paid training provided.
