Junior Accountant

Job Title: Junior Accountant – Accounts Payable (AP) / Accounts Receivable (AR)

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Shift: Night Shift

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance and accounting team in Chennai. The candidate will support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, including invoice processing, payment tracking, reconciliations, and maintaining financial records.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process vendor invoices and verify invoice details.
• Assist with invoice matching and payment processing.
• Maintain vendor records and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable reconciliations.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prepare and process customer invoices.
• Track outstanding payments and update receivables records.
• Assist with payment posting and customer account reconciliations.
• Follow up on pending payments and resolve billing discrepancies.

General Accounting

• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Perform accounting data entry and update Excel spreadsheets.
• Assist with financial reports and month-end closing activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve accounting queries.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic MS Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Tally, SAP, Oracle, or other accounting software is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com, BBA, M.Com, or equivalent).
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and work in a night shift.
