About the Role

You will work directly alongside the founder to architect, build, and ship the core Custosa runtime and developer experience. You will take real problems from rough ideas to working production systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Core Systems: Design and ship low latency policy evaluation services, SDKs, and developer integrations that sit between AI applications and sensitive data sources.
  • Own Features End to End: Take ideas from initial architecture through backend implementation, developer dashboard UI, and production deployment.
  • Plug Into the Modern AI Stack: Build integrations, MCP servers, and middleware hooks for LLM frameworks and agentic workflows.
  • Ship Fast and Iterate: Test edge cases, debug real world failure modes, and keep the runtime fast and reliable.

Who You Are

  • Product first mindset: You are product obsessive. You care deeply about understanding why we are creating this product and the exact problem it solves.
  • You build interesting things on your own: You have a knack for tinkering and have built hands on personal projects outside of class assignments.
  • Curious about what’s happening in the world: You actively keep up with what’s going on across AI, software, and tech. You can grasp how things work quickly.
  • Strong fundamentals in at least one stack: You are comfortable shipping real code in TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Rust, or Go, and figuring out unfamiliar APIs or infrastructure on the fly.
  • Vibe coding with AI tools to move fast is a real advantage, as long as you deeply understand the code and know exactly what is happening under the hood.

How We Interview (No DSA)

  • Zero LeetCode or DSA puzzles: We do not ask Data Structures and Algorithms trivia or whiteboard riddles. We care that you can understand how systems fit together, reason through real problems, and build working software.
  • Show us what you’ve built: Our conversation will focus on the projects you’ve worked on, the ideas you care about, and how you think through building products from scratch.
