About the Role

Gallagher Bassett's INVEST Program Guardian Pathway is a 6-month, paid, fully remote, entry-level immersive learning experience designed for recent college graduates. This program provides real-world exposure, personalized coaching, mentorship, and a clear, long-term career path in the workers' compensation industry.

Key Details

• Program Duration: 6 months
• Format: Fully remote (candidates must physically reside in specified states)
• Salary: $60,000 USD (states outside of California)
• Start Date: January 2027
• PTO Restriction: No PTO requests will likely be supported for the first 8 weeks of the program.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in instructor-led sessions, online modules, job shadowing, and mentorship focused on foundational insurance knowledge, claims operations, and state-specific workers’ compensation regulations.
• Observe experienced claims professionals to learn best practices in managing lost time (indemnity) workers’ compensation claims.
• Apply learned concepts in a controlled, simulated claims environment to practice decision-making and data input.
• Achieve program milestones and performance checkpoints.
• Engage with peers, mentors, and cross-functional teams.
• Begin handling new workers’ compensation claims starting in Week 3, with gradual inventory increases.
• Take ownership of an evolving portfolio of indemnity claims under close supervision.
• Apply training to real-world scenarios, including benefit calculations, wage loss evaluations, and return-to-work considerations.
• Analyze medical documentation, regulatory guidelines, state-specific regulations, and supplemental case materials to determine claim strategy.
• Engage in professional communication and strategy development with clients, providing support and empathy to injured employees.
• Secure key details from medical providers and other stakeholders.
• Interpret and apply client service instructions and carrier guidelines.
• Build skills in setting and adjusting reserves by analyzing claim details, medical data, and potential outcomes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Computer literacy, including strong familiarity with M365 products (e.g., Outlook, Word, and basic Excel and PPT).

Qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or 4-year degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree will receive preferential treatment.
• 3.5 or Higher GPA is preferred. Candidates with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive preferential treatment.
