About the Role
The Patient Account Representative – Patient Collections (Bilingual Spanish) acts as an extension of a client’s business office staff, responsible for resolving patient account balances through incoming and outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies, while adhering to all client policies and procedures.
This position offers a hybrid schedule: two days in the El Segundo, CA office and three days working virtually from home. The shift is 8 hours, between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM PT. The role involves receiving incoming calls and making outbound calls for soft collections.
Key Responsibilities

- Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients.
- Minimum call requirement for self-pay representatives is 75 calls a day.
- Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner.
- Assist client and patients in all requested tasks.
- Communicate to Guidehouse management areas of concern or areas of improvement.
- Research and respond to all patient inquiries received by telephone and mail.
- Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.
- Try to resolve account balances to zero prior to accounts being forwarded to an outside agency for collections.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bilingual Spanish Required
- 0-2+ years working within the following sectors: healthcare, insurance, business, finance, call center or customer service.
- Working knowledge of: insurance claims, billing, coding, follow-up, finance, accounting or customer service related responsibilities.
- EOB knowledge
- Strong Verbal / Written Communication Skills
- PC skills in a Windows environment
- Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel.
- Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
- EOB knowledge strongly preferred
- Understanding of healthcare software
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or 3 years of relevant equivalent in lieu of diploma/GED
This position offers an attractive hybrid schedule working two days in our El Segundo, CA office and three days virtually from home.
8 hour shift between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM PT
