About the Role
As a Software Developer Intern at Sandhills Global, you will learn modern tools and technologies used to develop industry-leading software. You will be placed in our developer training department to become familiar with our processes, procedures, and tech stack. Many applications are web-based, data-driven, and utilize .NET, SQL Server, Web APIs, and front-end frameworks such as JavaScript, jQuery, and React.js. After training, you will join an agile team that fits your skills to apply your training and contribute to developing real-world software for operational efficiency, customer services, or public websites. Sandhills Global is primarily a Microsoft shop, utilizing technologies in that ecosystem. C# is the primary coding language for new projects, with maintenance of mature systems in VB. Other languages like PHP, Swift, Objective C, and Java are used for minority, project-specific areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Put new training and skills to work within an agile team.
- Be part of a highly collaborative team utilizing agile practices to develop real-world software.
- Contribute to improving operational efficiency for the company, developing services sold to customers, or working on public websites.
- Maintain mature systems written in VB.
- Work on project-specific areas utilizing other languages and technology.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
