About the Role
MAARS Design is seeking a full-time, on-site Interior Quantity Surveyor in Chennai. This role is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of interior projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Estimate project costs.
- Monitor project budgets.
- Ensure cost-effective use of materials and resources.
- Support design and project management teams with cost planning.
- Conduct regular cost reporting.
- Update stakeholders on financial progress and variances.
- Obtain quotations from contractors and vendors.
- Negotiate prices with contractors and vendors.
- Verify measurements and invoices.
- Assist with tender documentation.
- Evaluate bids.
- Contribute to the financial viability and timely delivery of interior projects.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- MS Excel proficiency.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying or estimation software.
- Familiarity with project management tools is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in BOQ preparation and quantity take-offs for interior projects.
- Proficiency in Cost Planning and Cost Management, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience in Cost Control and Cost Reporting.
- Knowledge of interior materials, finishes, and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings accurately.
- Relevant academic background in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary design and site teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Working knowledge of local languages in Chennai is beneficial.
- Prior experience in interior or architectural projects in India is preferred.
