NX Design Engineer, Wiring Harness

About the Role

We are looking for a Siemens NX Design Engineer – Wiring Harness with hands-on experience in electrical routing and harness design, who can understand real-world engineering workflows, customer requirements, and industry design practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D wiring harnesses using Siemens NX Electrical Routing.
• Understand customer requirements, engineering specifications, and design constraints.
• Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand existing design processes, challenges, and engineering expectations.
• Perform electrical wire and cable routing within mechanical assemblies.
• Create 2D harness drawings, flattening drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Develop harness layouts, connector placements, clips, clamps, brackets, and protective coverings.
• Perform routing feasibility, clearance, interference, and bend-radius checks.
• Review customer CAD models, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and design specifications.
• Provide engineering insights and feedback based on practical wiring harness design experience.
• Support technical discussions, design reviews, and requirement clarification with customers.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Hands-on experience with Siemens NX / UG NX.
• Strong knowledge of NX Electrical Routing and Wiring Harness Design.
• Experience in 3D harness routing, packaging, and 2D harness flattening.
• Understanding of automotive or industrial electrical wiring systems.
• Knowledge of connectors, terminals, wires, cables, and harness protection components.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and design specifications.
• Familiarity with harness manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Good technical communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to customer design reviews and engineering requirement discussions.
• Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter.
• Understanding of electrical distribution systems (EDS).
• Experience with engineering change management and design validation.

Educational Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
