About the Role

We are looking for experienced and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialists with hands-on experience in Charge Entry, Payment Posting, and Demo (Demographics) Entry in the US medical billing industry. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), insurance claims processing, payment reconciliation, and patient demographic management.

Key Responsibilities

Charge Entry

• Review patient encounters, superbills, and supporting medical documentation to ensure accurate charge entry.
• Enter charges into the billing system using appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes as applicable.
• Verify patient information, dates of service, provider details, and insurance information before charge submission.
• Identify missing information, duplicate charges, and potential billing errors.
• Ensure timely and accurate charge entry to support clean claim submission.
• Coordinate with the relevant teams to resolve charge-related discrepancies.

Payment Posting

• Post insurance payments, patient payments, and adjustments accurately in the billing system.
• Process payments received through Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), and Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
• Reconcile payments against bank deposits and remittance details, as applicable.
• Identify and report underpayments, overpayments, denials, and payment discrepancies.
• Apply contractual adjustments, write-offs, and other approved adjustments according to payer guidelines and company policies.
• Identify and escalate unapplied cash, payment variances, and posting errors for resolution.
• Maintain accurate payment records and complete assigned daily production targets.

Demo (Demographics) Entry

• Enter and update patient demographic information accurately in the billing system.
• Verify patient name, date of birth, address, contact details, insurance information, and subscriber details.
• Validate primary and secondary insurance information, as applicable.
• Identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent demographic and insurance details.
• Ensure accurate patient registration data to minimize claim rejections and billing delays.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable data privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• Any degree or equivalent qualification.
• Prior hands-on experience in US medical billing and RCM operations.
• Practical experience in Charge Entry, Payment Posting, and Demo Entry.
• Knowledge of US healthcare insurance, EOB, ERA, EFT, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS terminology.
• Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to meet daily productivity and quality targets.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Candidates with relevant experience in US healthcare medical billing operations.
• Candidates who can independently handle assigned processes with minimal supervision.
• Candidates who can maintain accuracy, productivity, and turnaround time standards.
