Sales Associate, Inside Lawn & Garden

About the Role

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you will combine customer service skills with a genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping. This role is for individuals who want to engage with customers and assist them with their home improvement challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately to ensure customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
• Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout processes.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Computer proficiency: 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Retail technology: 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Basic arithmetic: Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• Physical requirements: Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Lifting: Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation.
• Working conditions: May work in both inside and outside weather conditions, with potential exposure to varying climates (extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions), constant or intermittent noises, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
• 6 Months Experience using a computer.
• 6 Months Experience using common retail technology.
• Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic.
• Ability to perform job duties requiring prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities.
• Ability to lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with accommodation.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bi-lingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to a department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).
