Junior Designer / Draftsperson

About the Role

• This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
• The role involves preparing and updating 2D and 3D drawings.
• Assist in design development.
• Support senior designers and engineers with detailed construction drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams to understand design requirements.
• Ensure drawings meet standards and specifications.
• Assist in revising layouts based on feedback.
• Organize project files.
• Maintain drawing accuracy.
• Prepare basic quantity estimates.
• Support site teams with clear and timely design information.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Foundational skills in technical drawing and drafting using CAD or similar design software.
• Ability to produce accurate plans, elevations, and sections.
• Basic knowledge of construction design principles, building materials, and structural layouts.
• Skills in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Ability to translate conceptual sketches into clear technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple drawing revisions while maintaining version control.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn from senior team members.
• Familiarity with local building codes and standards is beneficial.
• Ability to adapt to company processes and project timelines is beneficial.

Qualifications

• A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in drafting or junior design roles.
