Merchandise Assistant

About the Role

The Merchandise Assistant is a full-time, onsite position at Bealls, Inc. Corporate Offices in Bradenton, FL. This role supports one or more Buyers with administrative tasks and vendor communication, contributing to the success of the retail business. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, collaborative, driven, and adaptable. This is an entry-level role with no supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to Buyers with purposeful and administrative tasks.
• Contribute to communication with vendors.
• Perform critical accuracy with data entry related to purchase orders, items, pricing, and marketing.
• Create purchase orders on a daily basis.
• Act as a liaison for the buying office, including direct communication with marketing/ecommerce, compliance, logistics, GMM, and DMM.
• Perform general office maintenance, including ordering supplies, merchandise sample management, office organization, and filing.
• Support Buyers with the marketing process for Bealls Stores, including sample deadlines, order tracking, purchase order entry, and data entry for weekly ads.
• Communicate directly with outside vendors.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate effectively and frequently via email, telephone, and Microsoft Teams with external and internal partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Retail focused Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous retail store experience preferred.
• Administrative experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Adequate vision, speech, hearing, and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, etc.).

Occasional travel with the Buyer to local Bealls Stores and/or Bealls Outlet stores in Hillsborough and Sarasota County may be required.
