Cashier/Sales Associate

About the Role

Sales Associates are the heart of the store, responsible for keeping it clean, inviting, and running smoothly. This role involves more than just operating a register; it requires dedication to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and process sales accurately and efficiently at the register.
• Become knowledgeable in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales, ensuring compliance with all age verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and engage in upselling to increase sales.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the inside and outside of the store, including:
• Deep cleaning high-use restrooms.
• Wiping down and sanitizing gas pumps (nozzles, screens, water buckets).
• Picking up litter and trash from the floor and lot area.
• Taking out trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to ensure merchandise is fresh and full.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment by sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and maintaining entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, such as deli, as needed.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
• Act as a team player and assist wherever needed.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability: Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Willingness: Prepared to work hard and stay on your feet for most of your shift; comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Math Proficiency: Basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Physical Ability: Capable of frequently lifting 10 lbs and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Pre-Employment Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
