Software Engineering Internship (Summer 2027)

About the Role

Amca is hiring software engineering interns to build systems that transform engineering knowledge into structured, usable data. The work involves creating software to digitize, label, and organize technical documents, and developing a custom suite to enhance engineer and factory team efficiency. Interns will address real production challenges with direct user interaction, influencing hardware design, build, and shipping speed.

Key Responsibilities

• Build pipelines for ingesting, digitizing, labeling, and structuring large volumes of technical drawings, CAD files, and engineering documentation.
• Develop internal tools to accelerate engineering and manufacturing workflows using codified factory data or by observing current practices.
• Design and ship full stack products and features.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to identify bottlenecks, implement software solutions, measure impact, and drive improvements.
• Enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems.
• Write clean, tested, well-documented pseudo-code and code, and participate in code reviews.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Understand and experience using storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to unfamiliar tools independently, comprehend and write detailed documentation, and take ownership of work.
• Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical teammates regarding plans, updates, and blockers.
• Strong fluency in using AI coding tools for efficient development, with the responsibility to understand and verify all generated code.
• Strong git habits, including clear commits, branching, pull requests, and reviews on shared repositories.
• Proficiency in one or more of TypeScript, React, Go, Python, or SQL.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience shipping full-stack features or applications to production via internships, project teams, or personal projects.

Hourly Pay Range: $30 - $50 USD

This position requires U.S. person status as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizenship, Green Card holder, or protected person status).
