About the Role
The Partner Engineering Platform (PEP) team within the Windows Ecosystem and Commercial Engagement (WECE) team builds secure, reliable, and compliant services, data pipelines, and agentic solutions that enable collaboration across Microsoft's global network of partners, customers, and engineering teams. This role involves designing, building, testing, and operating cloud services that power collaboration between Microsoft and its partners, addressing real-world engineering problems across APIs, distributed systems, security, data processing, and service reliability. The work will involve production systems used across Microsoft and its partners, focusing on building services that remain correct and available as usage, data volume, and integration complexity increase. Success requires a solid engineering foundation, curiosity, a growth mindset, and the ability to drive defined problems to completion with increasing independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate secure and scalable cloud services and APIs with guidance on larger design decisions.
- Own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through deployment and production support.
- Build reliable solutions involving APIs, data processing, authentication and authorization, and asynchronous workflows.
- Write high quality, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to unit, integration, and automated test coverage.
- Implement authentication, authorization, data synchronization, and asynchronous processing logic that correctly handles retries, failures, and edge cases.
- Add telemetry, logging, and alerts to the features you build, and use them to monitor service health and diagnose issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation, live-site support, and investigate production issues to contribute to service reliability and operational improvements.
- Participate in design reviews and code reviews, incorporating feedback, and contributing to engineering quality.
- Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and partner teams to clarify requirements and deliver working solutions.
- Learn and apply team engineering standards, security and compliance practices, and responsible use of approved AI-assisted development tools.
