Technology Leadership Program

About the Role

Vanguard’s Technology Leadership Program (TLP) is a two-year rotational program designed to develop the next generation of IT leaders. This program offers hands-on experience, collaboration, and three unique rotations to build both technical expertise and leadership capability. As part of the Application Development track, you will design and build technology solutions that power Vanguard's business and improve outcomes for clients, impacting millions of investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance applications that support Vanguard’s internal systems and client-facing platforms.
• Develop scalable solutions using modern technologies, including cloud, APIs, and full-stack development.
• Take ownership of projects and contribute to delivering high-impact outcomes for the business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product teams, and business partners.
• Apply Agile methodologies to deliver solutions in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Participate in technical capstones, hackathons, and innovation-focused initiatives.
• Build relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders across Vanguard.
• Meet regularly with your department manager and program manager to receive personalized coaching and mentorship.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong interest in application development, including web, mobile, or backend systems.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with coding languages is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and/or leadership aspirations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with a concentration in computer science, computer engineering, IST, IT, CIS, or related technical/engineering subject matter.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.

This position will begin in 2027. Students graduating in December 2026 or Spring 2027 are encouraged to apply.
