About the Role
- Act as Snowflake Platform Admin within the client ecosystem.
- Own day-to-day administration of Snowflake environments (databases, schemas, warehouses).
- Own administration, governance, and operational stability of the Snowflake platform.
- Ensure platform stability, availability, and operational efficiency.
- Enable data onboarding via standardized Snowflake integration patterns.
- Support onboarding teams for connector creation, configuration, and validation.
- Close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a secure, scalable Snowflake platform architecture.
- Monitoring & troubleshooting data pipelines.
- Data Validation & Quality Assurance.
- Monitoring, Incident & Support.
- Prepare and maintain Snowflake SOLD (Solution Design Documents), Integration templates, and Knowledge Base articles for access and onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage compute warehouses (scaling, performance, cost optimization).
- Handle incident management, troubleshooting, and RCA.
- Ensure compliance with RBAC, SSO, security, and audit controls.
- Support Snowflake object lifecycle management (databases, schemas, tables, views, stages, tasks, streams).
- Support data platform onboarding and integration enablement (schema setup, access provisioning, initial environment configuration).
- Manage data access and sharing configurations (secure data sharing, external integrations, role-based access segregation).
- Enforce RBAC policies across account, database, schema, and object levels ensuring domain-based access segregation.
- Work with Security teams for Firewall rules, VPN approvals, Access governance.
- Incident and Change Management.
- Manage Snowflake account-level, database-level, schema-level, and object-level roles using RBAC model (roles, role hierarchy, grants).
- Administer Azure AD / SSO group mappings (SCIM/OAuth integration) for automated user provisioning and access control.
- Maintain environment/domain-based role and database structure (DEV / QA / PROD segregation, domain schemas).
- Govern access lifecycle (grant/revoke roles & privileges) via ServiceNow/request workflows and ensure compliance documentation updates.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong experience with Snowflake platform administration.
- Experience with Snowflake (schemas, RBAC, permissions).
- Experience with Azure (ADLS, PrivateLink, networking).
- Experience with VPN, Proxy, SSH tunnels, Static IP configurations.
- Co-ordination with Infra and Networking teams.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Experience in Agile environments and CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with SNOW workflows.
- Knowledge on Terraform.
- Ability to understand and write stored procedures.
- Knowledge/understanding of python/java scripts.
- Knowledge on GITHub, Jira.
Qualifications
- Understanding of Data mesh / domain-driven architecture.
- Exposure to Data.world and Manta.
- Experience working with Snowflake and Confluent Kafka is a strong advantage.
