Legal Operations Associate

About the Role

Jerry is building the first app to manage car ownership, which is currently stuck in the 90s. The legal team keeps everything running, handling entity filings, IP protection, product reviews, consumer escalations, and audits. This role offers real scope early on, with the opportunity to run core legal operations and rebuild them with AI and low-code tools. The ideal candidate is a natural driver who owns projects from start to finish, solves complex problems without a manual, and thrives in a startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation: Utilize AI and low-code tools to replace manual legal tasks with automated workflows.
• Legal and regulatory projects: Conduct legal research, contract reviews, and other substantive projects alongside Legal Counsel.
• Entity compliance: Manage corporate entity compliance across the US and Canada, including annual reports and state requests.
• Brand protection: Monitor intellectual property, identify infringements, and initiate cease-and-desist workflows.
• Consumer escalations: Investigate complex escalations, recommend solutions, and develop compliance training.
• Product compliance reviews: Assess products and processes for compliance risk and user friction, collaborating with Engineering and Product to implement fixes.
• Compliance audits: Lead audits across operations and monitor high-risk areas.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Demonstrated interest in using AI and technology to improve work processes.
• Experience in building tools, automations, or processes.
• Familiarity with AI and low-code tools.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an academically rigorous program, with a record of high performance.
• A track record of owning projects from start to finish and solving problems independently.
• Ability to work with AI and low-code tools.
