About the Role
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide pre-hospital emergency care and safe transport to patients using Dial4242 ambulance services. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, requiring readiness to work in shifts, respond promptly to emergency calls, and uphold high standards of patient safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions.
- Administer basic life support measures.
- Monitor vital signs.
- Assist paramedics and other medical professionals during emergency calls.
- Collaborate with dispatch teams.
- Follow established clinical protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient care records.
- Ensure ambulance equipment and supplies are ready and functional.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Emergency Services and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), with practical experience in pre-hospital care.
- Knowledge of Medicine and basic clinical procedures appropriate to an EMT role, including vital signs assessment and life support techniques.
- Experience working alongside Paramedic teams, with the ability to support advanced interventions and follow medical direction.
- Completion of an accredited EMT or paramedical training program.
- Additional certifications in BLS, CPR, or ACLS are an advantage.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Physical ability to lift and move patients safely.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Familiarity with basic documentation practices and use of mobile or digital tools for reporting and communication.
