About the Role

Seeking a Java Developer to provide Agile DevOps support to mission-critical systems. The candidate will offer technical expertise in the design, development, implementation, and testing of customer tools and applications for extracting, transforming, and loading data into an enterprise Data Lake. Operating within a DevOps framework, this role involves participating in and/or directing major project deliverables across the entire software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. This position requires developing custom code/scripts for rapid data extraction, triage, and exploitation across domains and data stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend microservices using Java and the Spring Framework.
• Participate in and direct software programming initiatives, shaping backend architecture, mentoring team members, and conducting code reviews.
• Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon.
• Utilize integrated custom-developed software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies.
• Develop, prototype, and deploy solutions within a cloud-based platform leveraging platform services.
• Analyze (via proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and coordinate infrastructure needs driven by developed software.
• Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices.
• Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.
• Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments.
• Leverage GitFlow constructs and DevOps tools like GitHub and Jenkins.
• Utilize scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Apply and identify software development best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Create innovative solutions to meet customer technical needs.

• Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools such as Junit.
• Direct experience utilizing scripting languages such as Python and Bash while working in an Agile development environment.
• Extensive experience with development in commercial cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Extensive experience leveraging cloud data services (e.g., S3, RDS, EFS).
• Extensive experience using version control systems and issue/problem tracking systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13+ years of relevant experience.
