Cyber Security Intern, India

About the Role

Skillzenloop is looking for a motivated Cyber Security Intern interested in information security, network protection, vulnerability assessment, and secure computing practices. The selected candidate will assist with security research, basic security assessments, documentation, and security awareness activities, gaining practical exposure to cybersecurity concepts and defensive security practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in researching cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
• Learn fundamental security assessment techniques in authorized test environments.
• Support basic vulnerability identification and security configuration reviews under supervision.
• Assist in reviewing system and network configurations for potential security weaknesses.
• Learn network security fundamentals, including firewalls, ports, protocols, and access controls.
• Support security log reviews and identify unusual activity in provided datasets.
• Assist in documenting security findings, observations, and recommended remediation steps.
• Research common security risks, including phishing, malware, and social engineering.
• Help maintain security checklists, incident records, and technical documentation.
• Support security awareness initiatives and documentation of recommended practices.
• Assist in reviewing access permissions and basic security controls under guidance.
• Follow ethical security practices and use only authorized systems and testing environments.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and information security principles.
• Familiarity with computer networks, TCP/IP, DNS, and common network protocols.
• Basic knowledge of Linux or Windows operating systems.
• Understanding of common security threats and preventive measures.
• Familiarity with networking tools or security analysis tools is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of scripting with Python or Bash is beneficial.
• Understanding of authentication, access control, and data protection concepts is preferred.
• Familiarity with security frameworks or vulnerability management concepts is beneficial.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to ethical conduct and responsible handling of information.

Qualifications

• Candidates pursuing or holding a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field may apply.
• Freshers and entry-level candidates are welcome.
• Candidates with cybersecurity coursework, lab exercises, certifications, or defensive security projects are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants should have access to a computer and a reliable internet connection.

Internship Details

• Duration: 1–3 Months
• Stipend: ₹15,000–₹16,000 per month, subject to applicable internship terms.
