About the Role

This is a part-time Assistant Photographer role based in Chennai, structured as a hybrid position with a mix of on-site shoots and some work-from-home tasks. The Assistant Photographer will support lead photographers during shoots.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for shoots.
• Assist with lighting and composition during shoots.
• Coordinate with clients and crew on set.
• Organize gear.
• Help set up locations.
• Manage backups of images and video.
• Maintain an orderly workflow before, during, and after sessions.
• Provide basic post-production support, including culling images and organizing files.
• Communicate progress with the creative team.
• Adhere to studio standards.
• Follow creative direction.
• Contribute to a collaborative, respectful work environment.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Foundational photography skills, including understanding of camera settings, composition, and lighting.
• Comfort assisting in studio and on-location setups.
• Ability to handle equipment such as cameras, lenses, tripods, and lighting gear.
• Basic post-production skills, including file management and familiarity with photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop).
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Comfort traveling within Chennai for shoots.

Qualifications

• Candidates with prior experience assisting photographers, a portfolio of work, or formal training in photography or visual arts will be considered an advantage.
