Medical Assistant (MA) Front/Back Float

About the Role

MemorialCare is a nonprofit integrated health system seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) Front/Back Float for its Primary Care department in Rancho Mission Viejo, CA. This is a full-time position with a day shift (8-hour shift).

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for front office duties in assigned medical practices.
• Supports clinical care team members with patient care delivery in accordance with the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice.
• 50% of duties will include lab services.
• Assist in data collection for patient assessment.
• Implement a teaching plan with patient, family, and/or caregiver(s) as necessary.
• Implement orders and treatment plan components as directed by Provider(s).
• Be punctual and present for work.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
• Interact in a positive and constructive manner.
• Prioritize and multitask.

• Ability, skill-set, qualifications, education, and licensure required for all position responsibilities.
• Excellent communication (written & verbal) and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Proficiency in prioritization, organization, and multi-tasking with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to identify issues, problem-solve to logical conclusion, demonstrate initiative, and be responsible.
• Demonstrate proficiency of all duties within the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• One (1) year of medical office and clinical / lab experience in an ambulatory care environment required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Pay and Experience Levels

• MA Level 1: 0 to 2 years of experience. Pay Range: $23.00/hr - $33.18/hr.
• MA Level 2: 2+ years of experience. Pay Range: $25.22/hr - $36.57/hr.
• Placement in the pay range is based on relevant years of experience and qualifications.
• Additional compensation may be available, including shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
• A $2,500 signing bonus is available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.
