About the Role

This role suits someone who would rather create new accounts than take over existing ones. The position is newly created, with a flexible start date. The long-term goal is for the right person to move up into a Sales Manager role. The employer acts as a contract manufacturer, building textile, coating, tile installation, and waterproofing components and systems to customer specifications. You will find customers who need custom-made solutions and guide each project from initial conversation through to launch.

Salary: $70,000 base, negotiable, with a $15,000 bonus after six months.

Location: Initially based in Rochester, New Hampshire, transitioning to remote after the first few months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and carry out a sales plan for private label and custom-manufactured business.
  • Prospect distributors, buying groups, manufacturers, and professional contractors.
  • Run each deal from technical consultation through pricing, negotiation, and launch.
  • Lead projects covering new product development, packaging, branding, and commercialization.
  • Deliver quotes, present them, and follow up quickly.
  • Travel across North America (U.S. and Canada) to meet customers in person (60-70% travel).
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, pricing, and customer needs.
  • Keep accounts, pipeline, and forecasts up to date in the ERP/CRM system.
  • Submit field reports, weekly progress reports, and sales forecasts.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel 60-70% throughout the U.S. and Canada.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.

Qualifications

  • B2B consultative sales experience, or early-career experience combined with a clear hunter mentality.
  • Comfort selling custom, made-to-specification work such as private label, OEM, or contract manufacturing. Selling manufacturers' off-the-shelf products is not a fit.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience (a science-related degree is a plus).
  • Strong presentation skills, in person and virtual.
  • Commercial, analytical, and negotiation ability.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with textile, coating, tile installation, waterproofing, ceramic tile and stone, flooring installation, building materials, or construction chemicals.
  • Experience selling through distribution, OEM, or manufacturing channels.

Personal Profile

  • Comfortable with long sales cycles and multiple decision-makers.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with international teams.
  • Curious about customer applications and focused on long-term partnerships.
