Software Engineer Intern

About the Role

SoTalent is an innovative technology firm redefining the financial sector through the development of an AI driven automation platform. This high growth startup is looking for a talented Software Engineering Intern to join their fast-paced team in Manhattan for the upcoming summer. This internship involves full integration into a core product squad, working alongside veteran engineers and designers to build tools that automate complex accounting and tax workflows. Interns will own a major project from design to deployment, gaining experience with large language models and autonomous agentic systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy full stack features using React, TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI.
• Utilize LLM orchestration frameworks to enhance and refine AI powered agents.
• Collaborate directly with domain experts to turn intricate financial processes into functional software.
• Maintain high code quality through rigorous testing and participation in peer reviews.
• Navigate technical ambiguity with a focus on shipping production ready code.
• Showcase summer achievements in a final presentation.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science or a related technical field with a graduation date of 2027 or later.
• Solid proficiency in at least one major language such as Python, TypeScript, or Go.
• Foundational knowledge of databases, web APIs, and front end frameworks.
• A strong interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a rapid development environment.
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with OpenAI or Anthropic APIs and prompt engineering.
• Previous exposure to fintech, SaaS, or the accounting industry.
• History of contributions to open source software.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or container tools like Docker.
