About the Role
Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Store Team Member who is passionate about people and their pets, and enjoys providing exceptional, neighborly service.
Key Responsibilities
- Stop to help a neighbor select the perfect toy for a terrier that likes to chew.
- Review and compare the ingredient labels of several food brands for a concerned cat parent.
- Fit a squirming dachshund with the perfect harness.
- Educate customers on bird ownership.
- Stock shelves and ring up neighbors’ purchases.
- Feed all furry pets and ensure their habitats are clean.
- Engage with customers and handle the demands of working with pets.
Specialization areas may include:
Cashier
- Process customer purchases with accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide Preferred Pet Club membership information.
Stocker
- Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
- Stock shelves to ensure product availability.
- Carry products such as kibble, cat litter, and aquariums to customers’ cars.
Pet Care
- Provide care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
- Answer customer questions on animal care.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- The position can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and standing for long periods of time.
- Candidates must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and be 16 years or older.
- Be knowledgeable about animals and products.
- Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Support team members and act as backup when needed.
Qualifications
- Passionate about pets and providing neighborly service.
- Willingness to learn through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs.
- No specific minimum years of experience stated.
Compensation
- Min USD $17.50/Hr.
- Max USD $17.50/Hr.
