About the Role
HBK is seeking a candidate to start full-time in January 2027. This role is for an Assurance Associate.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues.
- Developing an understanding of the audit approach and tools.
- Assessing risks and evaluating the client's internal control structure.
- Performing analytics, substantive tests, and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
- Drafting financial statements.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- A competent working knowledge of accounting and audit software required.
- Proficient in QuickBooks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Working toward CPA.
- Previous public accounting experience preferred.
- Team player and ability to work well in a group.
- Detail and task oriented.
- Adequate research and writing skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients.
