About the Role

Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Recent Grad RN to join our 12-month Nurse Residency program. This program prepares Nurse Residents to become a Certified Hospice Nurse after completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly classroom education pertaining to the care of hospice patients & families.
• Gain six months of practical experience facilitated by a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor in a hospice house setting.
• Participate in scheduled rotations with other hospice teams as well as the Home, ALF, and Admissions service lines.
• Join a new team in the seventh month with continued individualized orientation as needed.

Program Details

• 3:1 Nurse Resident / Clinical Coach ratio.
• Exam fees for certification are covered by Empath Health.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week. Typically, 3x12 hour shifts in the Hospice House and 4 hours of clinical education per week.
• No medical/surgical experience is necessary for this program.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Current Florida RN License or multi-state compact license.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and means of transportation.
• Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations prior to direct participant contact.

Qualifications

• Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Must have less than 1 year of RN experience for the residency program.
• Prefers clinical experience with hospice or ALF patients.
