About the Role
Join Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, a Magnet Hospital, as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) in a complex medical care setting. You will work alongside a dedicated team providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and telemetry care to adult and geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide or assist with basic patient care under the supervision of an RN.
- Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ condition to an RN.
- Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
- Patient care may include: vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices, and removing urinary Foley catheter.
Work Schedule
- Days: 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Every other weekend requirement.
- 3 holidays per year requirement.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross within new hire period.
- Nursing students must obtain prior to hire.
- Demonstrated proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at minimum junior high level.
- Competencies in professional, technical, and clinical knowledge demonstrated in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Qualifications
- Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.
- Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
Physical Requirements
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
- Involves extensive standing and walking.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
- Minimum hourly: $18.25
- Maximum hourly: $24.95
