About the Role
WAVY-TV 10/WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic Digital Intern for the Spring 2027 semester. This is an unpaid / for-credit position.
Key Responsibilities
- Write for the web.
- Produce multimedia stories about Hampton Roads.
- Assist in operating a dynamic website with regular updates and constantly emerging content.
- Create Facebook posts and Tweets.
- Promote coverage.
- Learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Working knowledge of WordPress and CMS.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms.
- Experience with a videography course with working knowledge of Adobe Premiere preferred.
Qualifications
- Completed writing and editing courses.
- Passion for telling local stories.
- Must be enrolled in a college degree-granting program.
- Will be required to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program.
- Ability to work 12-15 hours per week on site.
- Ability to work a varying schedule Sunday through Saturday.
