About the Role
The OT Assistant at GASTROSURG HOSPITAL supports occupational therapy services by helping implement treatment plans and rehabilitation programs for patients. This full-time, on-site role in Rajkot involves assisting with patient care activities, preparing therapy areas and materials, guiding patients through prescribed exercises and functional tasks, and monitoring patient responses to interventions. The OT Assistant collaborates with occupational therapists and other healthcare staff to document progress, maintain equipment and hygiene standards, and provide education and reassurance to patients and caregivers. The role also includes supporting home care and discharge planning activities to ensure continuity of rehabilitation after patients leave the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing patient treatment plans and rehabilitation programs.
- Support occupational therapy services.

Qualifications
- Skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation to support treatment plans and recovery-focused programs.
- Strong Patient Care skills, with the ability to assist safely and respectfully in daily therapy and clinical activities.
- Abilities in Program Development and Home Care to help implement structured therapy routines and support continuity of care at home.
- Relevant diploma or certification as an OT Assistant or in Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation, or a related allied health field.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic documentation and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Prior experience in a hospital, rehabilitation center, or similar clinical setting is an advantage.
