Role Description

The Volunteer role at Rajalakshmi Engineering College is a full-time, on-site position located in the Greater Chennai Area. Volunteers support academic and co-curricular activities by assisting faculty and staff with event coordination, student engagement initiatives, and campus outreach programs. Daily tasks may include helping organize workshops and seminars, providing logistical support for technical and cultural events, and facilitating communication between students, staff, and administrative offices. Volunteers may also contribute to documentation, basic data entry, and general office support to ensure smooth functioning of departmental and institutional activities. The role offers opportunities to gain exposure to a dynamic engineering education environment and to contribute meaningfully to the college community.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Organizational and time management skills to coordinate events, manage tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Basic administrative and computer skills, including familiarity with office tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email) and documentation practices.
• Problem-solving and teamwork abilities to support campus initiatives and respond constructively to day-to-day challenges.
• Relevant experience in volunteering, student leadership, or participation in academic or cultural clubs is beneficial.
• A background or ongoing enrollment in engineering or related fields is an advantage, though motivated candidates from other disciplines may also be considered.
