About the Role

The Bakery Chef at SugarTown Retail Private Limited will be responsible for preparing, baking, and finishing a variety of desserts, including cakes, cookies, pastries, and specialty items that align with the brand’s clean-label and health-conscious offerings. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning production schedules.
• Following standardized recipes.
• Ensuring consistent portioning and presentation.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Collaborating with store staff to support live dessert preparation experiences.
• Managing ingredient inventory.
• Monitoring equipment.
• Contributing to new product ideas and seasonal menus.
• Training and guiding junior kitchen team members.
• Ensuring compliance with company quality guidelines.
• Supporting customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Baking and pastry production, including cakes, cookies, breads, and confections.
• Knowledge of clean-label, sugar-free, and gluten-free dessert preparation, with attention to taste and texture.
• Experience with food safety standards, hygiene protocols, and proper handling and storage of ingredients.
• Ability to follow and refine standardized recipes, manage portion control, and maintain consistent product quality.
• Competence in kitchen organization, inventory tracking, and basic planning of daily and weekly production.
• Communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with store staff and guide junior kitchen personnel.
• Attention to detail.
• Creativity in dessert presentation.
• Willingness to support experiential, live preparation formats.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a bakery chef, pastry cook, or similar role in a professional kitchen.
• Retail dessert or café experience is an advantage.
• Relevant culinary or bakery certification or diploma is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
