AI Agent Security Software Engineer Graduate
ByteDance
About the Role
The Security Engineering team at ByteDance builds and operates core systems protecting a large internet platform and its global user community. We address challenges in threat detection and response (TDR), infrastructure protection, and AI/LLM system security at the scale of TikTok and ByteDance. Our engineers possess deep systems-building expertise and strong security fundamentals, delivering high-impact, production-grade solutions in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment. This role offers opportunities for ownership, solving ambiguous problems, and safeguarding products used by billions. As a graduate, you will pursue bold ideas, tackle complex challenges, and experience limitless growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and iterate on threat detection, prevention, and response (TDR) systems for large-scale platforms, critical infrastructure, and globally distributed endpoints.
- Support the security of LLM-based systems and AI agent systems by identifying attack surfaces, developing defensive mechanisms, and improving safe deployment.
- Contribute to rapid exploration in LLM and AI agent security through prototyping, evaluation, security analysis, machine learning, and AI agentic approaches.
- Develop, test, deploy, and improve distributed security systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and scalability.
- Work with cross-functional teams to translate product and security needs into engineering solutions and deliver impactful security capabilities.
