Sales and Operations Management Trainee

About the Role

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Sales and Operations Management Trainee for their fast-paced environment. This role involves running a business and solving problems for customers, with ongoing training and mentoring to develop skills in sales, operations, finance, customer service, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts.
• Manage vehicle inventory, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Results oriented, with attention to detail and good time management skills.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck.
• Must be able to work the required schedule and at the specific location.
• Must complete Penske employment application.
• Must submit to a background investigation (past employment, education, and criminal history).
• Must submit to a drug screening.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Ability to accept responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.
• DOT regulated and requires a current driver qualification file, including:
• Annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check.
• Successfully completed DOT Physical.
• Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.
• CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary within the district.

Qualifications

• Preferred concentration in Business or Marketing.
• Internship or related work experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to read, communicate verbally and/or in written form.
• Ability to remember and analyze certain information.
• Ability to remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
