About the Role
Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking an Early Career Civil Engineer/Transmission Line Engineer. This role supports a variety of substation, transmission, and distribution projects (12kV to 500kV) in both engineering detailed design and Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) capacities. The position involves contributing to company standards and tools, and utilizing them for project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team environment to understand scope, prepare deliverables, and provide project updates.
- Perform cost-effective designs based on industry, company, and/or client standards.
- Generate transmission line design criteria for PLS-CADD.
- Build, modify, and analyze transmission line, pole, and tower models within PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS TOWER.
- Develop construction assembly drawings, material specifications, and structure loading packages for submittal to vendors.
- Develop construction deliverable packages including plan & profile drawings, phasing drawings, and standard installation specifications.
- Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects and assignments.
- Attend external and internal meetings to support processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited Engineering Institute.
- 3.0 cumulative GPA strongly preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience as a transmission engineer, transmission line engineer, civil engineer, or related position, preferably including:
- Route alignment planning.
- Structure spotting.
- Structure and line design of overhead transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS TOWER.
- Lattice tower analysis and design utilizing PLS TOWER and ASCE 10.
- Foundation design of transmission structures using FAD Tools and LPILE.
- Must be legally authorized to work without requiring sponsorship for employment.
