About the Role
Ability Matters, LLC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to support individuals with autism and other neurological disabilities in building independence, confidence, and meaningful lives in their communities. This role focuses on community inclusion, with work taking place in various community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, and budgeting.
- Participate in activities, events, volunteering, and other real-world experiences.
- Encourage individuals to reach their goals and build independence.
- Build relationships and encourage communication, social skills, and self-advocacy.
- Help individuals enjoy their community and pursue opportunities that matter to them.
- Model positive behavior and healthy communication.
- Work with a supportive team to provide safe, high-quality care.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred)
- Strong communication skills
- Valid Ohio driver's license
- Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
