Optometric Technician/Medical Assistant

About the Role

• Play an essential role by providing direct support to Doctors of Optometry.
• Prepare patients for their visits, including preliminary testing and measurements.
• Receive training and tools needed to learn the optical industry.
• Help provide the highest quality vision care to patients.
• This role reports to the Office General Manager but will directly support Doctor(s).
• Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures.
• Learn to use all pretest equipment through company training to perform a range of visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide a seamless patient experience.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to understand/do basic math
• Willingness to learn about the industry, product, and services
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training will be provided.
