Key Responsibilities
- Merchandising and stocking product
- Cashiering
- Cleaning to maintain store appearance
- Enhancing customer shopping experience through collaboration and exceptional customer service
- Modeling and fulfilling all customer service principles and escalating concerns to store management
- Informing store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
- Utilizing the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases
- Adhering to cash policies and procedures
- Following line policy and opening additional check lanes as required
- Stocking shelves and displays neatly, following merchandising planograms
- Completing curbside pickup orders: retrieving items, verifying contents, and ensuring timely delivery
- Maintaining zone and merchandising standards
- Assisting store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals
- Complying with all established company policies and processes
- Supporting store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment
- Adhering to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
- Performing general cleaning tasks to company standards
Physical Demands
- Pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving
- Lifting, carrying, and placing product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
- Operating equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
- Stocking product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
- Using glass and multipurpose cleaning products
Qualifications
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate all store equipment (e.g., cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers)
- Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity
- Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
- Ability to meet availability requirements
Education and Experience
- At least 18 years old required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
