Associate Cloud Engineer
HRCap, Inc.
About the Role
Our client is a high-growth, global social media technology platform connecting hundreds of millions of daily active users through real-time content ecosystems, creator economies, and immersive digital communities. We are seeking a highly motivated, technically agile Associate Cloud Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role serves as a foundational pillar in maintaining, scaling, and optimizing the cloud infrastructure that powers our global, real-time application. You will work closely with senior engineers to deploy cloud-native services, automate infrastructure provisioning, and monitor platform health to ensure 99.9% uptime for our global user base.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Deployment: Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud environments (AWS or GCP) to support new feature rollouts and microservices.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write, test, and maintain basic Terraform or CloudFormation scripts to automate the deployment of cloud architecture and eliminate manual configuration drift.
- CI/CD Pipeline Automation: Support the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring that developer code moves seamlessly and safely from staging environments into production.
- Observability & Telemetry: Configure and monitor system health metrics, alerts, and log aggregation pipelines (using Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana) to proactively spot anomalies before they impact the user experience.
- Incident Support & Documentation: Assist senior engineers in investigating infrastructure alerts, diagnosing system performance bottlenecks, and thoroughly documenting cloud architectures and troubleshooting workflows.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Solid foundational knowledge of core services within major cloud providers—preferably AWS or GCP (VPCs, EC2/Compute Engine, S3/Cloud Storage, IAM policies, and Load Balancers).
- Scripting & Automation Mastery: Basic-to-intermediate proficiency in script writing using Python, Bash, or Go to automate routine administrative and deployment tasks.
- Linux & Containerization Basics: Practical familiarity with Linux operating system environments and fundamental container technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes orchestration basics.
- Git & Version Control Polish: Strong competency using Git for version control, branching strategies, and collaboration within a shared engineering codebase.
Qualifications
- Education & Domain Literacy: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Computer Engineering, or a highly related technical field.
- Professional/Academic Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience (inclusive of robust technical internships, university lab work, or extensive personal open-source projects) focused on cloud infrastructure or backend systems.
- A foundational certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Developer Associate) is a major plus.
- Collaborative Mindset: Strong problem-solving aptitude paired with excellent communication skills, enabling you to clearly document technical processes and collaborate effectively across remote engineering teams.
